The Green Team

WHAT WE DO

The Green Team helps to make Evansdale “greener” and to educate children on healthy and sustainable habits. We help promote recycling, and we’re continuing
our Clean Air/Safe Routes campaign. Walk, bike, take the bus, or share a ride to school!

We also raise funds for our school -- we call it "Free Fundraising". Join us as we promote easy and often environmentally-friendly ways for our school to earn money at no extra cost to you. You can earn money for the school while you shop at places like Publix and online, collect "Box Tops for Education" and "Campbell's Labels for Education", and recycle various items ranging from paper to ink cartridges and more.

Walk and Roll Wednesday continues every first Wednesday of the month.  Everyone who walks, rides a bike or scooter, takes the bus, or shares a ride with a child from another household can get credit. Students need to check in at the table in the lobby, and tell us which clean commute they used (must be in the school building by 7:50am).

RECYCLING PROGRAMS

Overview and updates

We have recycling programs that also raise funds for Evansdale!

Paper:  You can bring all paper products, including office paper, color paper, poster board, cardboard, even books to school and recycle them in the blue bin located on the north side of the school.  The school receives money back for every ton we collect.

Note:  The Terracycle programs--Capri Sun pouches, Elmers, Kashi and Ziploc recycling have been discontinued.

Printer Cartridges and small electronics

We have been recycling printer ink cartridges for a long time, but did you know that we also accept cell phones and other handheld electronics?  Here is the list of what can be turned into cash for the school:

·  Cell phones

·   GPS

·   Ipods

·   PDA

·   Videogames and consoles

·    DVDs

·    Digital cameras

·    Laptops

So if you are done with that device, or even that old DVD, turn it in, and the school gets money!

Look for the bin by the front door.
